Salt air, cold trays, hot skillets

Oysters shucked close enough to taste the inlet.

The Clamshell is a small Point Pleasant raw bar built for the hours after the beach: briny oysters, cast-iron clams, cold martinis, and a dining room that still feels like the shore when the sun drops.

Come in sandy, order from the board, and stay for whatever the boats brought in that morning.

Before sunset, after the beach

Weekly reasons to come back before the weekend crowd does.

The Clamshell runs on small rituals: a low-tide happy hour, Sunday clambakes on the deck, and rainy-night suppers for locals who know the quiet nights are usually the best ones.

Good to know

A few answers before you head over.

Do you take walk-ins?

Yes. Bar seats and raw-bar seats are first come, first served. Dining-room tables are easier with a request, especially Friday through Sunday.

When is happy hour?

Monday through Thursday from 3–5pm at the bar, with oyster specials, fries for the table, and a short list of dock-light cocktails.

Can we book the back deck?

Yes. The deck works for small birthdays, rehearsal dinners, business dinners, and off-season buyouts. Raw bar add-ons are available.

Why are some oyster prices listed as market?

The raw bar changes with availability. Ask the shucker what is cold, local, and eating best that day.
